Much of the country is in the midst of a strong summer heatwave.
Conventional wisdom says that these hot summer months are not good for business. Too many people are on vacation, the weather’s too hot, no one wants to focus on business.
Yet I consistently find this to be one of the busiest times of the year. Why? Because for every individual who’s on vacation in July, another is thinking ahead to what’s coming up in the fall. For every person who’s floored by the heat, someone else is working hard to heat up their business for the future.
Don’t presume that business goes away in the summer. Check to see how you can help keep your customers engaged and enthusiastic. If your schedule does slow down, consider this a gift. Use the time to prepare outstanding offerings for the coming months.
Enjoy the weather, but remember: Those who nap too long in the sun will inevitably get burned.
