Last Saturday evening, nearly 800 people converged on the former Sun Microsystems campus in Mountain View, CA (now the home of Intuit) for an employee reunion.
This was an opportunity for many of us who were part of the excitement of Sun during the early days of the Web to reminisce, remember and reflect.
It was also a chance to reconnect with old colleagues and rekindle old friendships.
Sun in its heyday was an exciting and vibrant place – and many of the tools and technologies we take for granted today are built upon the Sun premise that the network is the computer, by many of the people who were once part of the team at Sun.
The players in technology have changed dramatically over the years, but for one evening it was nice to celebrate how much we’d accomplished – at Sun and in the time since.
