Washington, DC and the mainstream media are buzzing about recent revelations regarding the late playboy and financier Jeffrey Epstein.
You haven’t hear the news? Well, that’s exactly what the buzz is about: There is none.
After promising to be transparent about the whole Epstein caper, it turns out nothing new of substance has been released by the Trump administration. There’s no list of celeb names who partook in Epstein’s adventures, no discoveries about who may have been on Epstein’s private island, no new information about whether he committed suicide or was murdered in jail.
Despite much build up and expectation, there hasn’t been much news released about the JFK and RFK murders, aliens UFOs, or other supposed cover-ups either.
Yet, people on both the left and right of the political spectrum are up in arms about Epstein. They believe there’s dirt that’s been hidden under the rug and kept from the public. That might be true—Epstein was sure not a very nice guy—but maybe there isn’t really a smoking gun waiting to be revealed.
Or, maybe Epstein was smart enough to not keep lists or videos of his buddies and the activities they engaged in. Or maybe someone somewhere along the line found those things and destroyed them.
The problem with conspiracies is that you can never disprove them. After all, the absence of evidence only proves the conspiracy runs deeper than you thought possible. Someone somewhere is hiding something from us in some sort of nefarious manner.
Here’s my take on the real conspiracy: Someone in the media is playing up these potential conspiracy stories to capture clicks and eyeballs. Someone on the business side of the media is then using that viewership information to charge higher rates for advertising. What they’re hiding from us is the fact that there isn’t anything substantial behind all of this.
Don’t believe it? That’s OK, But I bet you can’t definitively disprove this. Because, after all, it’s yet another conspiracy theory.
